National Nutrition Month is back, and this year’s theme is ‘Get Your Plate in Shape.’ Before you eat, think about what goes on your plate. Foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean protein contains the nutrition you need without too many calories. Over the day, include foods from all the food groups to get your plate in shape.
One key to a healthy diet is the amount of fiber you eat each day. Experts recommend 25-30 grams of fiber daily, which can be easier to reach than you think. Not only is fiber good for your digestion, it also helps you feel full longer so it can also help you shed a few pounds.
One surefire way to get the fiber you need is Dreamfields Pasta, which has 5 grams of fiber per 1-cup cooked serving. Dreamfields has added fiber from inulin, a natural prebiotic fiber which helps improve digestion and balance energy.
For more information and tips about adding fiber to your diet, please watch a new video from ‘The Daily Buzz.’ It features Registered Dietitian and Dreamfields expert, Tami A. Ross, who discusses the importance of fiber in your daily diet. She has some great ideas to help you reach your fiber goal!
